Wedding Business Tips Relaunch

You’ve just taken an extended break from your wedding business. Or maybe you moved to a new location, changed niches, or completely rebranded as a wedding pro. You’re ready to relaunch your wedding business, but your referrals have either dried up, or aren’t viable leads for your new circumstance. You’re feeling like you’re back at square one.

And you put a lot of energy into growing your wedding photo booth business, wedding planner business, or wedding floristry business the first time. Having to start from the beginning again can feel deflating.

“When you run a business in the wedding industry, it often feels like taking a break is impossible. But having the right system in place can make it possible.”

There are many reasons why you might have to take an extended break from or rebuild your wedding business. Maybe there was an extended illness in your family, you had a baby and wanted time to focus on your family, or perhaps you moved cities. This blog will equip you with the tools you need to successfully relaunch your wedding business, whether you have just moved to a new city or have come back from maternity leave.

How Do You Get Your Name Out There In A New Market?

So you may have had your business systems under control and had a thriving wedding business before you took your break or made the switch, but now it’s time to update your wedding business. Here are four helpful tips for a wedding professional who has to start over again.

  1. Add more location-based information to your copy.

Start adding more location-based information to your blogs, web copy, and socials. For example, ensure your Instagram bio and name has your new location in it. Likewise, when you post photos of the weddings you have worked on, include the location in your hashtags and the venue.

  1. Utilize old leads

Let everyone know your doors are open.

Contact past couples and give them an update on your wedding business and ask if they have any friends or family in the area that they can refer to you. Also, reach out to other wedding professionals you have worked with in the past and let them know you are back in business, switched business, or are open in your new location.

  1. Attract the right couples with the right copy

The best way to do this is by using clear copy and communication to speak to your ideal couples and make them think, “Oh my gosh, that’s me! This is exactly what I want and exactly how I want my wedding to be!”

When you connect with couples on this level – price won’t be their first question anymore. You want to get to the point where pricing doesn’t matter, where you couples will work you into their budget because you get them so well that they don’t care how much you cost.

“When you try to speak to everyone – you speak to noone”

Ask yourself these questions:

  • What is the number one thing my ideal couples want from my service or product?
  • What is most important to my ideal couples when they book me?
  • How would my ideal couple describe themselves and their wedding?

After you answer these questions, go back through your answers and ask yourself “how” and “why” to dig deep.

For example, if you say your ideal wedding couple is “fun and adventurous,” define what “fun” is to your couples, and how they are adventurous.

For some people fun might mean making jokes, being silly and laughing the whole day – while to others fun might mean line dancing and table games with their family.

  1. Create a buzz with an exciting blog.

Creating a relevant and valuable blog for your ideal wedding couples is one of the best ways to increase your SEO and make sure you are found on Google Search – but this strategy takes time and consistency.

One way to speed up the process of getting traffic to your website and blog is to create content that features other wedding pros you would like to work with on a wedding or event.

Then let the other wedding pros know they were featured on your blog. Make sure to also share the blog on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest!
